End of the year Activity of the New Being Foundation
The New Being Foundation Nigeria recently organized an end-of-year visit to Solid Rock Orphanage Home Ile-Ife, Osun State-Nigeria. The team led by Ms Moyinoluwa Asubiaro, two other students from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Olanitori Oluwadamilola and Adegbite Emmanuel carried out this exercise as part of their ongoing efforts to support the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The visit, which took place on December 23rd, 2022, saw a team of volunteers from the foundation interact with the children at the orphanage, providing them with essential items such as food, Christmas Hampers, and educational materials. The foundation also organized fun activities for the children, including games, storytelling, and arts and crafts, to promote their overall well-being and development.
In addition to providing immediate assistance, the foundation also worked with the orphanage staff to develop a long-term sustainability plan. This plan includes measures to improve the living conditions at the orphanage, as well as strategies to support the children’s education and overall well-being. One of the key highlights of the visit was the foundation’s focus on SDG 1 – No Poverty and SDG 2 – Zero Hunger. They provided the children with nutritious meals and distributed items to ensure they had the necessities of life. The foundation plans to continue its support of the orphanage and other such initiatives in the future to impact the community positively.
The foundation also made significant contributions towards SDG 4 – Quality Education. The volunteers highlighted areas of educational need for the children, including the need for basic numeracy and literacy skills. They also hope to mentor the children, helping them develop the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in life.
The Board of trustees applauded all donors and philanthropists who supported the project while appreciating Mr Adetoba Mathew for his supervisory role and project supervision.
